Organization Description:

The Romanian Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, independent research institute, founded in 2009.RIST currently performs research on computational, theoretical and experimental neuroscience, artificial intelligence and dynamical systems. RIST was the host of the only Max Planck Partner Group in Romania (awarded by the Max Planck Society from Germany) and is the main organizer of the TENSS international summer school, one of the most appreciated experimental neuroscience schools in the world (in 2015, it has received 150 applications from 42 countries, across 6 continents, for the 12 available places), featured in National Geographic and Nature. RIST has been a magnet for talented Romanian researchers that have returned to the country in the past years and it has built up a highly interdisciplinary environment RIST is an alternative to public research institutions, for the purpose of providing a better work environment for scientists in Romania. It is currently the research organization in Romania with the highest ratio of foreign scientists.

RIST currently performs research on machine learning and dynamical systems.
